No current Talk conversations about this book.

Strong writing, strong sense of character and place. This story focuses on Maya's 16th year, when she goes to boarding school, finds a friend Roe to ease the loneliness. Togethervthey discuss the urgent, existential questions as they become more daring and learn the power of younfpg women.

Parts of it completely unrealistic but it worked anyway. The writing is as intense as Maya's and Roe's conversations. ( )
