I ... #119 mrsradcliffe, do you mean Busman's Honeymoon? If so, you're starting at very nearly the end of the series, and I think you'd do much better to start with an earlier book. The very beginning is Whose Body?, but what really matters is that you get the four at the end in the correct order: ... ... the sea, the sea and could not get into it all, however I count the bell amongst my favourite books.
Anyone read a busman's holiday? I'm about to start it and it's my first sayers. Could I also recommend the harper's quine to anyone who likes historical murder mysteries. After finishing The New York Trilogy I have started on Busman's Honeymoon by Dorothy L. Sayers, which was one of my SantaThing gifts. This is my first by Sayers and I'm only about 40 pages in but I think I'm going to enjoy it. I'm afraid that Busman's Honeymoon was my least favorite Sayers novel. I think I wanted less love and more detection. I'm listening to Busman's Honeymoon and enjoying it very much. I decided that this summer would be a good time to revisit my Lord Peter books, so I'm reading Whose Body (the first in the series) and listening to Honeymoon. It's fun.

Sayers' Wimsey/Vane books, Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, Gaudy Night and Busman's Honeymoon (yes, reader, she married him), are full of "commitment phobia"!
