I've been on a Frank Lloyd Wright kick. I recently read The Women: A Novel by T.C. Boyle and Loving Frank by Nancy Horan. My interest was sparked by a visit to Falling Water and the Guggenheim Museum which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

My mom enjoyed Loving Frank and passed it onto me, but I haven't read it yet. I think maybe her interest was swayed by, like Linda, having visited Falling Waters right around the time she read it.

... and some bios I've read. I couldn't get that image of a little, pompous know-it-all out of mind while I was reading Loving Frank, so just couldn't see the romantic potential there--ugh! And even though his first wife didn't come across so favorably either, I don't think his choice to ...

You know, Linda, that was the impression I had of him from just the short bit of Loving Frank that I listened to. I wasn't sure I could take a book with someone mooning so totally over someone who didn't impress me much. That's why I thought maybe a different book would shed a different light. ...

There's been no time to read deeply, and so I think I'll attempt Loving Frank as an airplane book in a week. In the meantime, I've been reading some Henning Menkell as a simple pleasure. Given the small bits of time available, I've dipped into the story collection, The Pyramid. Dour but ...

35. Loving Frank by Nancy Horan I finally read this book because my husband and I went to Taliesen a few weeks ago and I decided this would be the time to read it. I liked it more than I think I otherwise would because I could picture the house and I had just heard some of the history. And I ...

#29 - sisaruus, my RL book club had a raging (which is always fun!) debate over Loving Frank. A couple of folks strongly dislike it when an author imagines and expresses those imaginings of the inner world of a person who truly existed, with no way to know the truth of their thoughts. What do ...

I'm reading Loving Frank by Nancy Horan.

My mom read Loving Frank in a day and a half-- she's not a reader, but if you're looking for a quick read, I recommend it from her testimony. I haven't been able to pick up a book this weekend, but I have Birds of America, Assassination Vacation, and The Abstinence Teacher waiting for me ...

I'm not sure how popular it is, but I'm reading Loving Frank by Nancy Horan. It's about Frank Lloyd Wright, fiction. Slow going, told from the point of view of his married lover. WHL, I completely agree with your motto. We eat very little meat, but now and then I must have steak, lamb or ...

Someone passed along a copy of Loving Frank to me while I was on vacation. It is not a book I would have chosen, but hey, it was free. It was much better than I expected. I finished Loving Frank this week. I almost didn't finish it because of the interweb. The main character, Mamah Borthwich (I think that's how you spell it), was described over and over again as very beautiful. Curious, I googled her. The first hit, wikipedia, gave away the ending in the very ...
