Must have for the classic educational textbook library. This text was required by an Act of Congress and within the state Pennsylvania public school system. This book claims to be "a choice of collection of reading lessons in prose, poetry, from the most approved authors, and for use within academies, and higher classes in schools, etc." The level of reading appears to be high school level. It includes 2 songs in the back: Never Say Fail and I Love the West. The cover is embossed hardboard of high quality and durability in a pocket sized volume.
