The Banks was good; not his absolute best, but interesting and well written. Just started both The Steep Approach to Garbadale by Iain Banks and The Land of Laughs by Jonathan Carroll. ... doesn't shy away from the painful emotions felt by the characters and that makes it a particularly moving book.
