Recently made into a major motion picture starring Charlotte Gainsbourg--the classic French novel of infidelity Inspired by its author's scandalous real-life affair with the trouser-wearing feminist novelist George Sand, The Confession of a Child of the Century is a searingly honest, passionate account of a young man's rite of passage. Capturing the failed idealism of the Romantic era, it is published here in the first new English translation in over a century.
