That was exactly my reaction to A Crack in the Edge of the World. When I decided to read it, I was looking more for information about what happened in the city during the quake and after, rather than the ... ... that he led up to the disaster really well, but the actual eruption was a little shortchanged, IMO. I found A Crack in the Edge of the World last year when I wanted to read more about the earthquake; it is far more scientific and technical than I had anticipated, ...
