She is cut from that same cloth of Miss Pettigrew but she is more self-aware. I love her careful observations of her circumscribed world and her internal inventions that make life bearable.

I think it is broken now I am finding Miss Mole engaging enough to read when I should be reading research. ... I don't have a full sense of her yet, but The Misses Mallett started much more as you describe The Vicar's Daughter. Miss Mole started off at a boil.

Oh and Eurydice I can see why you might want to spend time with Miss Mole. I am afraid I will have to add that to my wishlist. Oh dear. ... so she is.
I admit it, Robert Graves and I, Claudius are wonderful, but really I want to spend more time with Miss Mole. (As I did last night and this morning.) Of course, I'm at the danger point with him where I tend to give up on books, from odd boredom: 2/3 - 3/4 of the way ... Eurydice, I just loved Miss Mole. What a wonderful character. E.H.
