Best horse book right after The Black Stallion. This is a true story about the beginning of the Thoroughbred breed. Wonderful glimpses into history of both the middle east and Great Britain. You can even really go see Sham's grave at Gog Magog "in a passageway leading to his stable." The boys loved this book. ( )
