76. Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi
Pages: 153
Rating: 4/5
THANK YOU AilurophileDJ, for recommending this to me. I really enjoyed it! I'm going to have to badger someone at the library to get the 2nd half of the series in.
I'm about midway through Persepolis: A Story of Childhood and really enjoying it. It's a short comic book and I'll probably have it finished by tonight. I'll be watching football tomorrow (and tonight) and will wait until Monday to start my next book. Probably going to be The Little Book of ...
The Rabbi's Cat sounds wonderful, as does Persepolis . I've added both books, along with The Rabbi's Cat 2, to my Amazon wish list. Thanks, Akeela!

Persepolis for Iran would be popular! Especially since it's also a recent film release. (Also, I kind of think it's a better pick than Reading Lolita in Tehran because it gets further into history, and in a more accessible way.)

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel and the Persepolis series by Marjane Satrapi are two I'd highly recommend.
50. Persepolis 2 -- by Marjane Satrapi. Sequel to Persepolis . Marjane tells about her life in Austria and returning to her family in Tehran. These two books are a MUST READ! They are graphic novels, but entirely readable and made more poignant by the illustrations.

Strike this one, hadn't realized we were limiting ourselves to women writing about women - I'm thinking of starting with Persepolis II , which I've been meaning to read since finishing Persepolis. But that's on the short side; I may pull out some Hrosvit or Christine de Pizan.

I have to agree.
I've just made an attempt to sort out a minor mess among Satrapi's works, stemming from her Persepolis series having been originally published as 4 volumes, but in the U.S. as 2 (i.e. vol. 2 in one is not necessarily the same as vol. 2 in the other). I've added ...
