#78 - I've ready many of Picoult's books besides Handle with Care, including My Sister's Keeper (my favorite by far), Plain Truth (loved), Picture Perfect (very good), Vanishing Acts (very good), The Pact (loved), The Tenth Circle (very good), Nineteen Minutes (okay), and Keeping Fa ... I have only read one Jodi Picoult book, Plain Truth, and it did come to a resolution, so I do not think all of her books are open-ended. ... tell you, that can mean some sacrifices.
All that said, I'm not particularly a Picoult fan. While I read and enjoyed Plain Truth, I also read The Tenth Circle which I found much less enjoyable (she was trying to do too much in it, imo).

In this case, the person on trial is a young Amish woman. I read Plain Truth by Picoult last year which is why The Pact is of interest to me. Thus far, Plain Truth is the only one of her books I have read. ... that it did fill in the gaps of P&P including how Mr Darcy found Lydia and Wickham which was interesting to read.

I enjoyed The Pact more but both were good. ... up and down with both of the kids though, so I probably only read about 10 pages but already I am intrigued.

Of those who I know and are Jodi Picoult fans, this is the one they recommend. ... is pretty good. She sort of writes chic lit with substance. I have read quite a few of her books..
Vanishing Acts and Plain Truth were okay..Keeping Faith, Second Glance too. She is someone who provides light reading that doesn't make you want weep for having chosen the book.

397. Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult - a big "Thank You" to Whisper goes out for this one, because it was not a book I would have even picked up before
398. The Buried Book ... Im slowly reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodie Picoult. So far its my least favorite of her books. It just cant keep myself in it. Im more than halfway through it so at the rate I'm going I'll be done next weekend, haha. Book Number 14: Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult.
Not as good as the others I've read by her, but an interesting insight into the Amish way of life. #43. Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult - This was another Picoult novel that gives on an inside look at the challenges that can occur with the American justice system. This is the story of Katie Fisher, a young Amish woman, living in rural Pennsylvania. She is accused of murdering her ... ... like this since Harry Potter... which I know makes me a bit of a loser. Again, I'm very excited to read the next two.

I enjoyed the writing of Picoult. Plain Truth was well crafted. I think what I liked best was that while the events portrayed were powerful, Picoult wrote in a breezy, yet in-depth way. Her writing was very heart warming and while the court room scenes were dramatic, they ... #157 Whisper 1: I have not yet read any of Picoult's books, so I think I will give Plain Truth a try based on your recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised by this well-crafted, insightful book regarding a young Amish girl accused of killing her newly born infant after the denial of pregnancy.
I was captivated by the intertwining of the lives of the Amish family, the defense ... ... on this rainy day. A cup of tea and the ability to relax while finishing the 50 pages remaining on my current book -- Plain Truth would be soooo great!

And, Anne Tyler is one of my favorite authors. Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant is the first of hers that I read a ... Book #19: Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. This book, like the two others that I've read by Jodi Picoult, involves a court case and many twists and turns in the plot. As much as I don't enjoy reading about the law, there is so much drama packed into the court case that it's interesting! I loved it, ... I just finished Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult and I loved it loved it loved it!! I have to read Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy before I leave for college so that should be my next venture. I'm going to read a companion to it, too, called Truth and Beauty by Ann Patchett.

Picoult is one of my favorite authors. MSK is one of my favorites. Two other favorites are 19 minutes and Plain Truth. I am currently reading her newest book, Change of Heart combining organ donation and the death penalty as issues. Again, a compelling read! I just finished Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult and bought Salem Falls. I am hooked on her books after reading The Tenth Circle. I saw a preview for the Lifetime movie for The Tenth Circle it looked good so I read the book (the movie was bad by the way). ... following closely by Nineteen Minutes. I have read almost all of her books. I think the only ones I haven't read are plain truth, salem falls and songs of the humpback whale. I'm reading Jane Austen in Scarsdale and I just finished Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. If you try her, start with My Sister's Keeper( if you haven't read it already). 2. Plain Truth - Jodi Picoult I have read all of the books that are out in the UK. The first one I read was Plain Truth and it is still my favourite - it is so intense and even once you think you know what has happened you desperately want to find out but finishing is terrible cause the story is done.
She is a great ... ... working my way through her books as well. I have listened to most of them on Audio. So far, I think my favorite one is Plain Truth. RIght now I am listening to Salem Falls.

OK, to name the ones I've read...Keeping Faith, My Sister's Keeper, Picture Perfect, Plain Truth, Salem Falls, Second Glance and Vanishing Acts...I've started Songs of the Humpback Whale: A Novel in Five Voices but it has been hard for me to get into...I don't read books by the same ... I'd suggest reading Harry Golden , For 2cents plain, Jackie Mason, and some of the Yiddish short story writers like Sholom Aleichem.I think what is known about Jewish Humor in the US comes from the Ashkenazi immigration, where there was a large group of yiddish speakers here, a ... Working on Jodi Picoult's Plain Truth for book club and eagerly awaiting my Early Reviewers copy of Identical Strangers: A Memoir of Twins Separated and Reunited. My Sister's Keeper is my favourite, but I loved Nineteen Minutes too.
So far I've also read Keeping Faith, Plain Truth, and Salem Falls ... I didn't think they were all that great though, so they don't make my "Favourites" list.
My next Picoult read will be The Pact: A Love Stor ... ... her subject matter, and I find that I learn something when I read her books. I enjoyed the first two books that I read: Plain Truth and My Sister's Keeper: a novel. But Vanishing Acts left me flat and while I might read more of her work it won't be for a while. Book #12

Over the weekend I bought Nineteen Minutes and Plain Truth both by Jodi Picoult and Mockingbird a biography of Harper Lee by Charles J. Shields. My Sister's Keeper was my first, which led me to pick up her others. So far I think The Pact has been my favourite. Plain Truth is definitely a good one too.

I agree with you. The first Picoult book I read was Plain Truth, and then My Sister's Keeper (touchstone not loading). I enjoyed both for the strengths you described. Then I read Vanishing Acts which left me flat. I wonder if it's the book itself, or is it that she employs some of ... Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult is a fictional, but well-researched, account of an incident in an Amish community near Lancaster, PA.
