I liked this more than the previous volume. I mean the last one was still entertaining but didn’t have as many straight up funny comics. The notes are often more entertaining than the strips themselves.

Anyway i certainly don’t regret buying any of these, i have vol3,4 &5 . Of course i did buy them second hand during a closing down sale... so... still worth every penny :P . ( )

This is my favourite of the collections so far, and because of the art rather than the writing. Gabe experiments with several different styles. There is the first page of The Wandering Age. The sketchbook moments are a treat too, especially the dancing robot. Highlights other than the dancing robot? The Prince of Persia cartoon, plus the Knights of the Old Republic. Just excellent. ... http://icantstopreading.wordpress.com/2008/06/11/birds-are-wierd-by-jerry-holkin...

Merideth says: Ahhh... Penny Arcade, you either get it or you don't, and honestly, sometimes, I don't. However, Mike Krahulik (a.k.a. Gabe) continues to be one of the best artists in webcomics, and Penny Arcade can still deliver. ( )

Penny_Arcade began as a three-times-weekly comic strip about computer games. By 2003, collected in this edition, it has become a base for the creativity of the writer and artist. As well as some classic comic strips, this volume contains a 6-page cardboard tube samurai adventure. Because that's what you do when writing a comic strip about computer games. Tales of a samurai who wields a piece of kitchen rubbish. ( )
