I loved this book although I thought the ending was far-fetched. ( )

It is a story of sin and redemption. There is no easy conclusion to the story and that is what makes it a great book. Also, I love books that spark an interest in a topic- history, current events, culture. This book did! The audio book was read by the author. (Excellent!) ( )

4.5 stars. A very well written novel about friendship, excruciating pain, guilt and redemption. Although uncomfortable at times and parts felt a little predictable it is overall a great story. I did appreciate the picture it paints of how Afghanistan has changed over the last few decades, and the contrast that's reflected in the lives of Afghan people. But, I don’t know if I have ever loathed a protagonist more than Amir. He was such a horrible person and the hurt he caused and then coming to America and having a good life was just too much. ( )
