A couple rarer OOP books I'm interested in are Polymorph by Scott Westerfeld ... #74 - if you do end up continuing the series, The Mirador has scads of Mildmay and relatively little Felix.
#76 - I read The Invisible Ring this weekend. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the rest of the series. I'm reading Tangled Webs right now, and I can see why you describe it as iffy. ... I'm still in the city of Melusine, specifically in The Mirador now.
I'm also in both The City and the City. ... their pasts and dealing with new threats. These are among my favorite books in any genre.

I'm currently reading Sarah Monette's The Mirador. After this I have only one book left before I have to resort to e-books (I don't really like reading off my laptop). I finished The Mirador this evening and plan to start Corambis tomorrow. I've got so much invested in these characters now that I almost don't want to read it. I don't want their story to be over. ... hard cover because my eyes are going bad fast and the actual text is usually larger.
Even though I was anxious to read The Mirador and the local book store had it in paperback I still made myself wait for it to come in hard cover from the library strictly because I knew I'd have an easier ... I rereading started The Mirador by Sarah Monette yesterday. My first time through, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two, but I don't think I'll have that problem this time around. I am loving this book. >69 I thought that Felix actually had a lot less page time in The Mirador, with Mildmay and Mehitabel having much larger roles, or so it seemed to me.
I finished off Swordspoint last night and have moved on to Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs. ... the way he switched back and forth from being considerate one second to oblivious the next. I don't know if I'll pick up The Mirador, although Mehitabel sounds like an interesting character. ... over a year and once I read it I had all three books read within the three weeks after (the lag was how long it took for The Mirador to come in from the library). I'm now waiting impatiently for Corambis to get here! I still can't figure out if Felix is a character I hate to love or I ... ... of the North by John Flanagan - horray! Now I can reread the series and whip on through my ARC of Book Six. (!!!!!)

I liked Sarah Monette's books about Felix amd Mildmay: Melusine, The Virtu and Mirador. Didn't at all care for her Companion to Wolves. I've read Mélusine, The Virtu and The Mirador and I know what you mean. They're a good series, though. A bit of dip in the last one, but Corambis is due out next year and, hopefully, the quality will come back up. Gack! Over two weeks since I posted. Let's see:

Empire of Ivory by N ... ... best attempts to be annoyed by Felix I've sort of warmed up to the messed up little bunny. I'm a bit more ambivalent about The Mirador (although Mehitabel Parr is a *wonderful* character and I adore her) but I imagine my doubts will be resolved when the final book comes out. ... got ahold of A Companion to Wolves and I really loved it. Very different from the Melusine series.
I also liked The Mirador better than the earlier books... I enjoyed knowing the characters--who are almost old friends now. It was great to see them dealing with life in the Mirador--w ... Hooray! Just started reading The Mirador. It is good so far, but then, I enjoyed the first two books, so that is to be expected... Sarah Monette's The Mirador was unquestionably the best this month, which isn't surprising, since it's the third instalment in one of my very favourite fantasy series.
