I'm a longtime Farker, but I'm pretty disappointed in Drew's book. Most of his observations are pretty simplistic and obvious. Anytime he might tangent into something interesting, he immediately pulls back and pulls a "I'm just a regular guy that doesn't know anything" routine that's fine if you're talking to someone in a bar, but comes across as prideful ignorance and laziness when you're reading a book. Surely an author is expected to do a little research into a subject before trying to educate others, right? Interesting. I had never really thought about the fear-mongering, the repeated use of "seasonal" stories, and what amount to ads being run as news. Funny, sad, and revealing. If you're a Farker, then you already know what to expect from this volume. For the rest of you - don't drink while reading this. You will spew something out your nose laughing. You don't want to pass this up, and it will certainly give you a different perspective on the crap that passes for news. no reviews | add a review
