A space opera yarn, about a special forces guy trying to capture a telepathic alien, which is likened to a vampire in-story but rather reminds one of a siren. The story has a major logical flaw - why on Venus send a special forces guy to catch a critter whose power is to bewitch men? - but aside from that it's enjoyable enough. Far from Brackett's best work however.
