58-- The Limits of the Papacy Authority and Autonomy in the Church, by Patrick Granfield (read 16 May 2023) This was published in1987 and discusses learnedly (and pretty abstrusely) how the papacy might be better adapted to foster Christian unity. I found it not easy reading though I wished I were better grounded in the principles discussed. The author assumes the reader is smarter in the things discussed than I am. At age 94 and 7/12ths I can't hope to become wise enough to fully appreciate the theological principles involved--but if I were younger I would try to do so. ( )
