In science fiction, I was disappointed by The Robots of Dawn, and really disappointed by The Palace of Love (which was not nearly as good as the first two Demon Princes books). And I just started The Big Time, ... 52. The Robots of Dawn by Isaac Asimov - This one was disappointing. Just finished:

The True Game by Sheri S. Tepper ... I think the Foundation series is pretty safe but the books with Elijah Baley, have more explicate stuff, especially Robots of Dawn basically has an entire hedonistic planet. None of it is gratuitous (WoT or Asimov) but there you have it. The Witching Hour by Anne Rice
