the worm ouroboros which I've nearly finished. It's decidedly odd. Some of it's quite good, and some of it's badly let down by continuity errors, and some attrocious "letters" authentically reproduced with almost unreadable spelling.

I'd recommend The Worm Ouroboros by E. R. Eddison, sometimes it's a bit too detailed describing things but I've never read such thrilling battles.

I want to put in a vote for The Worm Ourobouros along with the two earlier people who talked about the book. It's wonderful and unlike *any* other work of fantasy on the market. I wish it were more widely recognized.
