This is a fantastic crochet book! The instructions are very easy and come with diagrams. The animals are all adorable and fairly simple so people of all skill levels can enjoy the book. There are also some scarves/hats/jewelery designs in the book, which are also good if not as cute as the animals. A great book if you like quirky crafts. ( )

I love this book! I recently went on vacation and had it with me poolside. Sadly, it got damp. Happily, I was able to get the pages apart and dry them with a blow dryer without there being any permanent damage or loss in terms of readability.

So, the only thing I have made in its entirety from the book is the flower that is featured as an attachment to a purse for which there is a pattern. I have also worked on a "Sebastian" the hamster up to the point that the decreases begin.

Based on what I have done so far and multiple readings of the patterns, I have yet to find an error, and the patterns are, to my mind, easy to read and understand.

In general, I love Narumi Ogawa's attitude toward and philosophy of crochet. This is a totally fun book, and when I went on vacation for two weeks and took only 2 crochet books, this was one of them.

Since posting my original review, I have twice made the yellow purse that is featured in the book. The first one I made in a bright pink with the flowers that are featured in the pattern and included it as part of a Christmas package. More recently, I made a second one in a bright turquoise, but instead of the featured flowers, I decorated with concentric circles of bright yellow, green, pink and/or orange.

Although I found one error in the pattern, it was easy to see and did not cause me unending consternation.

The more things I make from this book, the more I like it, and the more convinced I am of it's importance in a basic crochet library. ( )
