John Stewart on the Daily Show recently challenged John Stossel with a few areas where, he assumed, government just had to be involved. It was a not-very-veiled mockery of Stossel's support for free markets. I wonder: had Stewart never really heard of Nobel Laureate economist F. A. Hayek, or his proposal to "denationalize money"?

I suppose it's one thing to be ignorant of the long history of international and non-national money. But to be ignorant of this, the most interesting and challenging monetary proposal of the late 20th century?

I guess most people would be ignorant. That's why they should read this book. ( )
