The title is eye catching and some of the lists are truly fascinating. The only drawback is some of the information may be presented out of order (ie Ozzy's bat and dove incidents) or disputed. But those nitpicks may not be obvious to the casual reader. A historically minded person would raise an eyebrow. Overall, a nice companion to Shaw's ROYAL BABYLON. I tend to love this type of book: lists of oddball trivia. I'm a little put-off by the inaccurate information; It makes me question the truth of every other entry in the book. A couple examples: Jeff Buckley's death is attributed to suicide; The Three Musketeers is said to have been penned by Victor Hugo. I am known for my useless facts and this book has lots of them. It is a fun read. i am a fan of any book that provides the type of information i may never have use for in general conversation. however, i did love reading this while using public transportation. you just know people are staring at the cover of your book, wondering what kind of person you are for reading such a thing. no reviews | add a review
