The chapters are short and faced paced. The plot is easy to follow, although quite fanciful at times. Be prepared to suspend your belief and go along for the ride. Because of the upbeat nature of the book, it took a darker turn than I expected at the end.
The Sisterhood seems to be a group of fund adventurous women I have not read about since Nancy Drew. There are 31 other books to enjoy in the series. There are references in Bitter Pill to previous books. The characters give plenty of information in the background and dialogue that any reader can understand what they are talking about even if you have not read the book about the event. I recommend reading this book with one caveat. If you are not yet a Fern Michaels fan, you might catch a case of "I need to read the whole series."
