The next day November finds out she is pregnant with Josh's baby. This book is about a girl who finds out how hard it is to be a single mother. ( )I recently heard Sharon Draper speak and was quite taken by her. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this title as much as others by her. The story kept me reading but not enough went on to keep me enthralled. I really liked this book. This book touched me deeply, because i have been in a situation where i have lost someone that i loved. In this book November's boyfriend died in a horrible fraternity joke. November is feeling vey sick and she thinks its because of josh's death but its really because she's pregnant. KNow that josh's dead his parents are letting theirselves go, but when they find out that Novembr is caring the only living peice of their dead son they want the baby. November wants to give up the baby at first, but then she starts to get help from josh's cousin and finally realize's that the baby is not only josh's it's her baby to. She decides to keep the baby. November Blues is about a teenage girl that is pregnant but her boyfreind is dead. She has to go through is with her mother and her freinds. They try to help her out but in the end it is up to her to make the big dicision to either keep the baby or put her up for adoption, to her boyfriends parents. I liked this book because it shows that getting preganant can happen to anybody. The meesage is to not have the baby at all. Sequel to Battle of Jericho - 16-year-old November Nelson learns she is 3 months pregnant on first doctor visit. She’s carrying the child of Josh, who died 3 months before in a high school club hazing. November is an excellent student who had been on her way to Cornell. Her 8th-grade art teacher widowed mother deeply disappointed by the news. Friends Dana and Olivia circle around to support November. Friend Jericho (Josh’s cousin and best friend) promises to be there for her. Josh’s parents and their lawyer present November with adoption papers and a full 4-year college scholarship. With the backdrop of other kids’ senior year activities, November deals with her changing body, her broken dreams, and after baby Sunshine is born prematurely, hopes for her child and herself as a mother. no reviews | add a review
