I, too, enjoyed The Forgotten Beasts of Eld and The Riddle-Master, but my two favorite McKillip's are The Sorceress and the Cygnet and (most especially recommended) The Changeling Sea. I am reading His Majesty's Dragon. Isn't this a book you recommended?

... reading The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, which won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 1975, and then her fantastic Riddlemaster Trilogy, her lyrical writing immediately transports me into another world. This book deals, as her books so often do, with multiple levels of reality, from ...

lunacat I'm excited to see your good reviews of the Riddle-Master Trilogy because I'm ordering that in February for my 999 fantasy category. I had planned to count it as one book--but I see now that if I get in a bind I can use if for 3. I can hardly wait until you finish the third one. I'm ...
