... ... This was actually the third of the series that I'd read, so I'm getting them out of order. After reading the first one - Slightly Scandalous, which I think is really number 3? - I decided to get hold of them all.
This one is my favourite so far. I've been picking them up at a discount ... ... challenges. A wonderful crime novel set amidst the religious and political upheaval of 1540s England. 4½ out of 5.

Entertaining historical romance. My first by this author, and I really enjoyed it; I've added the rest of the series to the wishlist. 4 ... ... Love is really the first but I had already read that one) so I went back, read A Summer to Remember and then returned to Slightly Scandalous. I always like to make my life more complicated than it should be : )

Mamalaz - noticed you read Mary Balogh's A Summer to Remember and mentioned that you were going to start Slightly Scandalous next. Just thought I let you know that Slightly Married is the next one in the series. There is a website called Fantastic Fiction which tells you ... ... Top by Janet Evanovich. Currently reading Nobody's Angel by Patricia Rice, which is only OK. I will probably start Slightly Scandalous by Mary Balogh next. ... to them, then I have all the books in the series for them to read in order. And even though we didn't particularly like Slightly Scandalous, chances are that it's somebody's favorite book somewhere.
Also, we recently installed a whole lotta shelves in a room off our kitchen, so I actually ... I'm afraid I'm a completist, so I'm keeping my copy of Slightly Scandalous even though I tend to agree with you about it compared to the others. I also like to have early works by favourite authors (Linda Howard, Suzanne Brockmann, etc) even though they aren't their best work. I do find ... ... by an author I really like, yet the book fell short. Examples: Mine Till Midnight, Sins of a Duke, She's No Princess, Slightly Scandalous, Lover Unbound, etc. ... and snobby. I didn't like her in A Summer to Remember, either. Her story is the subject of the next novel in this series, Slightly Scandalous.
Best part: Probably when, after Judith is accused of the jewel theft and then runs off to London, Rannulf rides after her and takes her to his ... I finished Mary Balogh's Slightly Scandalous and have started on Slightly Tempted. I confess I didn't much care for Freyja's story - mostly because I didn't really care for Freyja. I'm hoping Morgan's story will be better. ... and I have Jess Michaels under a different name.
