Small but curious catalogue of an exhibition of Matton’s ‘mixed-media constructions’ at the Forum Gallery, New York, in 2002. A series of colour illustrations of the exhibits is preceded by an introduction by Barbara S. Krulik. Matton, a painter, sculptor and film-maker, is best-known for the boxes he has been building since the 1980s, each one a painstaking miniature reconstruction of a famous artist’s studio, or a realisation some other interior space, actual or imaginary. Several such boxes are documented in this slender but attractive little book.
