... vacation and read two books while I was away, didn't have a lot of time to read except on the plane to California.
#64 - The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn, my 2nd book in her Regency Bridgerton series, I liked this one even more than the first. 4/5 ktleyed in Romance - from historical to contemporary : What Are You Reading the Week of August 25th? (Aug 30, 2008, 2:14am) I recently finished The Viscount Who Loved Me and really liked it and now I'm reading Son of the Morning and am really enjoying it! I didn't realize it was going to be like The Da Vinci Code, The Pelican Brief, some Outlander and Nurse Betty all wrapped up in to one! So far so good! I just recently finished The Viscount Who Loved Me while on vacation and I really enjoyed it! I think I liked it more than The Duke and I, I found this heroine and hero much more endearing, I can't wait to read the next one! ... caused you to cry? I never felt emotionally invested in any of the characters.
My favorite Julia Quinn books are: The Viscount Who Loved Me and To Catch an Heiress.
I am waiting for the second The Lost Duke of Wyndham book to be released Mr. Cavendish, I Presume before the I ... Am just starting The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn ... enjoyed, although I thought they got less interesting as they went on to the younger Bridgertons. I think my favorites were The Viscount Who Loved me and Romancing Mr. Bridgerton and my least favorite was definitely When He was Wicked -- I didn't really like either Michael or Francesca very ... My favorite Bridgerton story is Eloise's To Sir Phillip With Love but I also enjoyed The Viscount Who Loved Me and The Duke and I alot. I have to be honest, I've struggled to finish Francesca's book but that's more due to what the plot is about than Ms. Quinn's writing style. ... Quinn has a great sense of humor and it really shows in her writings. I am not sure which is my favorite. It is either The Viscount Who Loved Me or Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. I really like all of them. I just finished the Viscount who Loved Me, and now I'm itching to read the rest of this series. I have to say I really enjoy the sense of humor that runs through the book. ... - but boy, was that a gut-wrenching read! My other faves were Colin's (Romancing Mister Bridgerton) and Anthony's (The Viscount Who Loved Me) stories. I liked all the books in this series pretty well, though! "Please don't tell me that she is writing about Viscount Bridgerton again."
The Viscount who loved Me by Julia Quinn
"Has she a brain?" >9, Stacey
I dunno, while it wasn't as funny overall as some of the others, the Bridgerton croquet scene in The Viscount Who Loved Me was completely hysterical. ... reader's advisory. I'm currently reading Ender's Game as my science fiction book. I still have to read Ice Station and The Viscount Who Loved Me before class starts on the 24th. I am actually rereading Julia Quinn's The Viscount Who Loved Me. This is one of my favorite Bridgerton books. I needed some light reading as I have been listening to A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. It isn't a romance but I needed something different for a change. The ... ... finished Gaelen Foley's Lord of Fire last night. Man, do I wish I'd read that much sooner.
I started re-reading The Viscount Who Loved Me after I finished that one. I have a feeling the Bridgertons will be a recurring re-read from here on out.
8/15/07-8/31/07:
15. The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn
16. The Grand Tour: Being a Revelation of Matters of High Confidentiality and Greatest Importance, Including Extracts from the Intimate Diary of a Noblewoman and the Sworn Testimony of a Lady of Quality by Patricia C. Wrede ... I'm nearing the end of The Viscount Who Loved Me, and not sure what's up next. I just got a ton of books in.
Some Shakespearean young adult stuff, some painting inspired historical stuff, a Jane Austen choose your own adventure book (I couldn't resist)...
Now I just have to decide what to ... ... in order. I've found the series to be mixed thus far from very good (The Duke and I & Romancing Mr. Bridgerton to okay (The Viscount Who Loved Me) to dumb (An Offer from a Gentleman).
I continue to enjoy the Bridgerton siblings (and Violet!) and Julia's charming writing style, but I ... ... Duke by Butler
Only a Duke Will Do by Jeffries
The Taming of the Duke by James
Viscount Vagabond by Chase
The Viscount Who Loved Me by Quinn
I have read three of the Julia Quinn Bridgerton books in the last four days...The Viscount Who Loved Me, An Offer from a Gentleman, and Romancing Mr. Bridgerton.
I'll probably hold off on the rest until next week. I have to get some sleep sometime!! ... novel has not been mentioned, To Sir Phillip, with Love I think its a favorite because I love Eloise. I also loved The Viscount who Loved me I can't decide who I love more, Anthony or Colin. I loved The Duke and I! It was my first JQ book and the one that got me hooked. The Viscount Who Loved Me is the only other Bridgerton I've read thus far, so I can't say which one is my favourite yet.
I've read pretty much all her other novels, though, and three of my absolute favourites ... Plowing my way through Julia Quinn's Bridgertons series. Finished The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me over the weekend and now I'm just about to wrap up An Offer from a Gentleman.
This is a pretty good series. I'm REALLY looking forward to Romancing Mister Bridgerton since ... ... are married so it can spoil it a bit to read it out of order.
1. The Duke and I (tied for my fav. of her books)
2. The Viscount Who Loved Me
3. An Offer From a Gentleman
4. Romancing Mr. Bridgerton (tied for my fav. of her books)
5. To Sir Phillip, With Love
6. When He Was Wic ... ... Crusie! Which is kind of like picking my favorite ice cream, lol.
Devonna & Julia- My favorite Bridgertons book is The Viscount Who Loved Me.
Right now I'm reading The Bride of Pendorric by Victoria Holt for the Gothic Romance group, plus Flirting With Danger by Suzanne Enoc ...
