This was a delightfully captivating read. It what is mysterious and swoony. it was written in the first person narrative from Micha's point of view. I'm moving on to Manipulation now :) ( )

It's Micha's senior year and she and her mom have moved because of a job opportunity her mom couldn't turn down. This would be a huge deal for most teenagers, but not for Micah. Micha's always been a loner. She works really hard at blending in and not drawing attention to herself, not because she wants to, but because she has to, because she needs to, in order to keep her sanity. Micha sees things. When she bumps into someone or touches someone, she has a vision, a flash or picture of something significant that has or is going to happen in that person's life. She has been able to do this ever since she can remember, and it is a secret that she has born alone.

Now she's the "new girl" again, which unfortunately causes more attention to be focused on her than normal. She ends up in a study group with one of the cutest boys she has ever seen, Landon, not that it matters or anything. I mean, it is not like she can have a boyfriend because of the whole touching and visions thing, and besides, it's obvious Landon is player. Needless to say when she ends up coming into contact with Landon and sees herself through his eyes, things start to get really interesting in Micha's life. She soon finds out that there is a lot more to Landon that meets the eye. Then there is the creepy history project they are working on which involves the Bahamas, voodoo, people with talents, and weird shadows, which bothers Micha a whole lot more than it should.

When Micha's mom starts dating the principal of her school, who just so happens to be Landon's uncle, they soon find themselves moving into a small house on Senator Michaels' estate, her mom taking on the job of managing the property. Micha's not thrilled about it, but at least she has access to the ocean. After Micah confesses to Landon about her gift of "insight," they find themselves growing a lot closer, even though Landon's dad, the Senator, kind of creeps her out. Things get even worse when she thinks she sees shadows moving in the woods around her house. With Landon's help, Micha is able to understand her visions a little better, but when she has to confess to him a secret she has been keeping about the death of someone he loved, things seem to fall apart for them. Little do they know that this is only the beginning of something so much bigger than they realize, something that is very dangerous.

I really enjoyed Insight. Jolene Perry's writing captured my attention from the beginning and held it throughout the entire book. The story line was great, and the whole paranormal aspect was very intriguing and mysterious. I loved the way the author combined the romance aspect in with the unique paranormal perspective, blending the two together seamlessly, giving this novel the feel of a paranormal and contemporary romance mix, that also has that mystery/thriller vibe to it. I really liked Micha and Landon. I like watching their relationship and trust grow. They both had plenty of "issues," and they both messed up pretty bad a time or two, which made them seem more like real people. Landon is really hot to, which is always a plus. Micha had her attitudes, but they were more a self-preservation mode she adapted to cope with things, though she wasn't afraid to speak her mind if needed. I liked Micha's mom a lot to. The book ended really well, leaving you wanting more, but not hanging off a cliff by your fingertips. Overall, I really enjoyed Insight and found it to be really entertaining. If you are a paranormal romance fan, then you should definitely check this series out. ( )
