This is a great book to read to elementary students and you don't have to read the prequel to this book to know it's going to be a good adventure. Russell and Richelle's dog disappears and they are down to a clock to find him. This book was full of adventure and ends happy as always.

This is a book that was quite different from the other books I read by C. Paul Curtis. It tells of Rodney Rodent being a typical animal and chasing after things. In the mist of his chase, he disappears and his owner, Russell, has to find him. Russell and the others really have a "great time" trying to find Rodney and eventually they do.

Steven and his best friend Russell are back!

When Russell's dog, Rodney Rodent, jumps into a mural to chase a demonic-looking gnome and disappears, the Flint Future Detectives are on the case. With the secret password (Bow-wow-wow yippee yo yippee yay!) Steven, Richelle, and Russell enter the mural too, only to find the mysterious Mr. Chickee on the other side. To find a way out, the detectives must complete a mission—finding Rodney Rodent. And that means they're in some wild adventure!
