DeWitt (read 11 Jun 1997) I did not find this to be a really good book--it quotes a lot from German state reports on the attitude of Germans during the Second World War. There is not too much surprising in the book--it is anti-Hitler, but tends to apologize a little that so many Germans were not anti-Nazi during the war. In a way the book was not bad reading because it got better as the war's end brought disillusionment to Germans supportive of Hitler. The book did not live up to my expectations.
