I love this series for its bright and colourful pictures and photgraphs. There is simple print that a younger student could read or have read to. A great nonfiction series for young children.

This book has simple text about animals of the African savannah (it doesn't specify this, but that's where all the animals in this book are from- interesting that this is the conception that many people have of wild animals). After several pages of simple facts (interesting facts though -I didn't know a couple of them), there is a quiz type page which asks about facts learned, and asks children to examine the pictures to find things and reinforce their reading skills. It ends with a story about a weaverbird who attempts to impress everyone with its nest, and only impresses the zebras. ( )
