“Food Chains” is a book that talks about the concept of food chains and food webs. A food chain shows a food relationship among plants and animals in a specific area or environment.
The authors show how all organisms interact in a natural habitat and explain how energy and nutrients can flow through using food chains and webs. They also describe the many sources of energy we often take for granted every time we eat. In this book, students will learn how energy moves through an ecosystem and how animal populations are affected by food supply. The book is organized by subject headings within pyramidal chapters. It also features informational boxes with lists of useful websites. It contains a glossary that defines advanced level words.
This is good book that helps informs students more about food chains and food webs. With plenty of pictures, it helps students have a visual understanding of the subject. The format is organized and makes the topic easy to understand.
Target Audience Grades 6-9
