The most lacking Garrett PI book I've read so far, with the worst plotline. Still a good yarn where the tough PI style is juxtaposed by the pre-industriel urban setting of a fantasy world filled with dragon lookalikes and magic. Garretts favourite girlfriend is stabbed on her way to visit him, launching him into a wild goosechase to find the one responsible for the attack. Underways he gets involved in a gangster fight of succession and a hunt for a magical relic that allows people to become someone else. (
