I read this book on the recommendation of David McCullough during an interview on C-Span. The story of the "Loyalists" was never really presented to me. I will tell you this is a great book and a story that will hold your attention from beginning to end. There really is two-sides to every story. History in school is history half-told! ( )

Read in 2008 A very fair account of the Tories side in the American Revolution. It makes the reader realize that the Tories loved their country as much as did the Rebels, felt differently about breaking away from England. It makes one realize how terribly each side treated the other. Another excellent book by KR. ( )

A well-written and researched book that many patriotic Americans were not at all pleased to see on shelves. A version of the American Revolutionary War that the DAR didn't tell their children. ( )
