Fairly standard story of pioneers heading west, meeting danger not as one might expect from native tribes but from Comancheros and outlaws. Good read. ( ) Dan Killoe and his father decided they wanted to move their cattle and ranch to the new lands recently won from Mexico and were especially please Dan's half brother Tap Henry came home to assist them. Only issue was that Tap had created a reputation as a dangerous gunman. Once they had a crew and participation by other ranchers, they started off but soon had to fight off local gunmen who turned out to be easy to defeat. When the a joint force of Comancheros and Comanches attack them, they lose some men plus the whole herd of stock. Dan sets out to get them back and without Tap who has made some bad decisions that Dan & his father can't overlook. Typical action packed Louis L'Amour western set in the desert with all the trials of moving cattle and horses long distances with little or no water. Product Description
