One of those pleasant, introspective-leaning books that you hope to pluck off the shelves on occasion. She doesn't write of great sports accomplishment here, but rather insight, metaphorically and otherwise, into rivers, being submerged in them, and their connection to us. Along the way the reader also learns a good deal about the rivers she crosses, their history, source, man's custodial efforts toward them. A nice read, makes me want to get close to my local river.
