Miss Madeline Langley finds Lord Farquharson repulsive, but her parents make a match for her with him anyway. When Earl Tregallas, the legendary Wicked Earl, offers her his hand to escape the unwanted marriage she gladly accepts. But marriage to Tregallas is not quite what she expected, and soon Madeline is drawn into a web of intrigue involving both men and a devastating series of events many years before. A quick, easy read with a truely believable villan for fans of historical romances. ( )

Part way into this book, I realized that I've read it before. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story, despite my preference for non-historical romances. The characters were interesting and of course the story came to a happy conclusion. ( )
