i find more than enough fun in this book to merit buying a copy though i did not have to because i was given mine; however, my boss at another publisher thought the word-play was too light (yes, even the title is a pun). If you read Japanese and like wordplay with an edge, see if you can find a copy!

Add. note: The author, once the head of Tsukuba University's main library, did a full translation of Beirce's Devil's Dictionary, then couldn't help attempting his own in his native tongue. I came to know him when i found a mistranslation in his wonderful column in a Japanese journal of linguistics (call him the Lederer of japan)-- was coinage of moynahan's -- and my letter did not end up in said journal but we met and he liked my ideas about why japanese and english were not really like the antithetical stereotypes held by most japanese, so i had the introduction needed to publish my first book!
