I found this book to be unbelievably honest and deeply affecting. Not only it is a wonderful story about diving and what it takes to be a champion. It is also window into Greg Louganis's inner feelings and the choices he has to make under painfully difficult circumstances. ( )

Olympic diving gold medallist Greg Louganis was molested by one of his coaches. He kept going back for the ‘affection, the holding, the cuddling – more than the sex. I was starved for affection’. ( )

Amazon.com Amazon.com Review (ISBN 0679437037, Hardcover)

Greg Louganis won back-to-back double gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, and his amazing physique and handsome face should have made him a media superstar. Yet Louganis's struggles with self-doubt lack of confidence held him back personally and professionally. He only achieved real happiness after coming out as an HIV-positive gay man. This is a thoughtful, sensitive portrait of a man whose insecurities nearly destroyed him, but who found the love and inner strength to save himself.
