Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0951169904, Paperback)

More than 25 years before the Falklands conflict occurred, the dispute between Argentina and Britain over sovreignty of the Falklands and the British Dependencies in Antarctica had highlighted the need for accurate maps of the region. Accordingly in 1955 the British Government funded a special expedition to undertake aerial photography of the Antarctic Peninsula. This is the first published account of a little known expedition, which in two seasons surveyed 35,000 square miles of hitherto unmapped territory.
