As a member of the Animal Ark series, Hound at the Hospital is about Mandy Hope, the daughter of the veterinarians at Animal Ark hospital and her adventures saving animals in need. When Mandy and her best friend, James, go away for the week to a special retreat at the SPCA animal hospital to follow inspector Danny Davies and his beagle, Sasha, in action. However, on their first day out patrolling with Inspector Davies, Sasha ends up getting injured and Mandy and James have to help save her!
I would recommend this book to students at about a third or fourth grade reading level. This book, like all in the Animal Ark series, are perfect for animal loving children. (
