I was given this book by my Grandmother, so its very special to me. The stories are closer to the real stories, they aren't like the Disney versions of the stories. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com (ISBN 0517189615, Hardcover)

This collection of children's stories is likely to enchant adults as much as it will youngsters. Filled with traditional fairytales, yarns, and fables, these are the stories that have been passed down through the generations: "Hansel and Gretel," "The Ugly Duckling," and "Red Riding Hood" to name but three. The tales have not been tailored for the sake of political correctness, or spiced up for a '90s audience. These are the unabridged works of the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, and other legendary authors from this genre. There is no room left in the book for illustrations--just page after page of classic story. --Naomi Gesinger
