I enjoyed Economic Naturalist; it's along the same lines as Freakonomics. If you are interested in really learning the ins and outs, Economics by Paul Samuelson is pretty much considered THE economics textbook, and it's not too hard a read (I'm not an economics person and even I could ... ... but the main heading is still filled with books in it. Economics (330) has 10 divisions: 330 is general Econ-like The Economic Naturalist, Economics for Dummies and the like. That hold pretty much true across the board. Then 331, which is Labor Economics (books of job lists, books ... sussabmax, The Economic Naturalist was okay, but not as good as Freakonomics. He had a great idea, about teaching basic economic concepts with everyday examples - supply and demand, opportunity cost, etc. But it got a little boring and repetitious.
