I've been working on this one for awhile - 420 Made in America by Bill Bryson - a look at some American history, especially that of the English language and how in changed (in pronunciation, words that were added, etc.). It's fascinating, but slow going since I'm reading a couple of other ...

>87 jessuncw, I'm really enjoying Made in America so far. I love Bryson's sense of humor and the random, unrelated, but fun details thrown in to the mix. When You Are Engulfed in Flames is the second book I've tried by David Sedaris - I thought the first (Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Den ...

I'm about a fourth of the way through Her Fearful Symmetry and a little less in Made in America by Bill Bryson. Now that I finished Johnny Tremain, I started listening to When You Are Engulfed in Flames, read by the author, and The Little Book for road trips.
