yesterday browsing my own library I came across this book that I had forgotten altoghether
Lempriere's Dictionary by Lawrence Norfolk, it is not an easy reading because the story-line is a little complicated and spawns on two hundred years, but it is worth ... Lempriere's Dictionary by Lawrence Norfolk A few in there I like too - besides the Durrell, of course - such as Lemprière's Dictionary, The Arabian Nightmare, Hawksmoor, Little, Big* and The Wasp Factory. I have Possession, although I've yet to read it (the film was pants). Likewise Ulysses. I've also got Norfolk's The Pope's ... ... three hours tag-dragging through LT and amazon, I'm very grateful to you.
After all I've said about it, I just hope Lempriere's Dictionary is not a book you personally intend to hand down through the generations. If it is, just put me down as a fish-hating philistine, because it rates a ... 12. Lempriere's Dictionary by Lawrence Norfolk
This took a long time too (I will have to choose some short books now if I want to complete my challenge), mostly because I didn't find it interesting enough. There are too many little details which are hard to remember, and they don't seem to ... A few I noted when I read them were A Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin and Lempriere's Dictionary by Lawrence Norfolk. I've got Lemprière's dictionary here on my shelf, but I haven't read it. I'm disappointed to hear you didn't like it, jdb1, as I was quite looking forward to reading it ... eventually.
Has anyone read Martin Davies' The Conjurer's Bird? I've had that one for a while and haven't ... Lempriere's Dictionary - ooh, that touchstone ought to work but doesn't.
Dictionary brings it up (click others and search) - it's because of the grave accent. Lemprière's dictionary finds it.
