Il viaggio di Felicia (Felicia's Journey, Gb/Canada 1999 col 116) Atom Egoyan. Con Bob Hoskins, Elaine Cassidy, Arsinèe Khanijan, Peter McDonald, Gerard McSorley, Claire Benedict, Marie Stafford, Gavin Kelty, Brid Brennan, Sheia Reid.
* Lei (Cassidy) è arrivata a Birmingham dall' Irlanda per cercare il ragazzo che l'ha messa incinta, lui (Hoskins) è uno scapolo di mezza età che tutti vorrebbero come vicino di casa ma che nasconde più di un segreto (e di un'ossessione).
Adattando il bel romanzo omonimo di William Trevor, Egoyan scava dentro il dolore e la solitudine, con un pudore e una concretezza rare, evitando sia il sensazionalismo (in fondo si parla anche di serial Killer) che il pietismo, convinto che solo dalle sfumature si possa penetrare nell'animo umano.
Aiutato anche da una recitazione superlativa, Hoskins in testa. Moglie di Egoyan, Arsinèe khanjian interpreta Gala, la madre di Hoskins ( )
