This is a story of a big bully troll who will not let Jack cross the bridge until he gives him what he wants. After multiple attempts, Jack finally finds a way to get the bully to not feel so small anymore. This is a great picture book that teaches the reader that sometimes the best way to handle bullies is with your mind, and not with violence.

This book shows students that violence is not the answer to solve bullying problems. They should see how Jack outsmarted the bully by making the bully the same size as him. Once Jack realized that the bully was not as big and scary as he first seemed, Jack was able to carry on about his day. There was no violence or unkindness involved, and students would see that it was a positive solution to the problem presented to Jack.
