Folco nous surprend une fois de plus avec un récit hors des sentiers battus. Une fois l'écriture "vieux français" apprivoisée, ce roman ce lit d'une traite. L'humour noir est utilisé à merveille pour débuter l'histoire des Tricotin qui se continuera sur deux autres livres. Place à la suite! ( )

Folco nous plonge dans un 18e siècle bien loin de la cour, de ses perruques poudrées, ses mouches aguicheuses et ses réparties brillantes.
On est dans l'Aubrac, l'obscurantisme, la crasse et la violence.
Un milieu cruel que Folco dépeint de manière si réelle que ce récit est à la littérature ce que la photographie en relief est aux images plates. ( )
