I enjoyed it, but it was a little hard to get into. After about 100 pages, though, things got more interesting in Lee's life. I have just gotten a copy of American Wife. I'm hoping that it's as good as prep was. Just got back from the States (Sittenfeld's The man of my dreams, a bit of a disappointment after Prep but not bad). Now I'll return to one of my favourite places in fiction - the harsh prose and fantastic characters of Sara Lidman's "Jernbane-eposet" series. I finished it earlier and i have rather mixed feelings about it - it was interesting but i just couldn't see what the overall ... Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld - i started reading it last night and i'm rather enjoying it so far although its quite hard to describe what the book is *actually* about. I read Prep two years ago and really enjoyed it, so decided to try Sittenfeld's next book. The Man Of My Dreams covers similar themes - a teenage girl coming of age - although I ... 55. American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld ... can't get enough of American Wife I can't wait to see where it goes. I really like Alice! The main character of Prep I wasn't exactly fond of but I sort of got her at the same time. 3- That's what I did too. The RH one looks so so amazing! The Penguin one looks really great as well, the second coming of Prep I got American Wife which I am thankful for, but the only other book I have read by the author,Curtis Sittenfeld, is Prep which I hated! However, the description for this book sounds better and the main character is older so that hopefully means a whole different type "feel" to the book. Well, ... I haven't gotten American Wife yet. But your comments made me think of the author's other book Prep which goes through the main characters 4 years at boarding school.
